To say I was looking forward to this wedding day was an understatement! Lauren and I clicked from the moment she contacted me late last year. When I met Jake during their Purdue Engagement session I knew that this was a match made in Heaven. They are terrific together.
Let’s just chat about the wedding. Number one, I loved the location at the Carriage House on the property of Minnetrista Cultural Center. It is a quiet, intimate location for a wedding. Upon arrival I met the bridesmaids. They were so great! Not only were they all beautiful (I mean really, Lauren, your friends are so pretty!) they were just so darn easy to work with all day. I’ll say it for the groomsmen too. They were awesome, fun and just all around swell guys.
I LOVED the color of the bridesmaid dresses. I don’t know if this is the technical color but I’m calling it Peacock. It photographed beautifully in the setting we were in. And Lauren’s dress was stunning. She emailed me a photo of it a while back and when I saw it in person I think I gasped. Gorgeous detail! And her flowers… oh my goodness, they were so fragrant and remained beautiful all day long. Florist, Abby was quite talented.
The reception took place at one of my favorite local spots. Cornerstone Center for the Arts in Muncie. The whole night was perfect. When the day was over I honestly didn’t even want to leave, but my job was done. I could have woke up the next day and done it all again.
Jake and Lauren, thank you from the bottom of my heart! There is no place I would have rather been on September 12th than with you two and your loved ones.
Enjoy this preview.
MEET THE NEWLYWEDS: Jake and Lauren WEDDING DATE: September 12, 2015 LOCATION: Minnetrista Cultural Center, Muncie, IN and Cornerstone Center for the Arts, Muncie IN HOW THEY MET: Jake and Lauren were high school sweet hearts. They dated for 7 year before getting married. ENGAGEMENT: November 11th, 2014. Jake had been planning ahead and had roses and candles in Lauren’s apartment with rose petals everywhere. He tried to put the ring on Abe’s (her cat) collar and handed him to Lauren. But she put the cat down and asked Jake what was going on. He finally had to take the ring off the collar and show her. Jake got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him. Afterwards they headed to dinner at Joseph Decuis where they had, “Congratulations Lauren and Jake” printed on our menus. FAVORITE WEDDING MEMORIES: Lauren’s favorite wedding day memory was seeing Jake crying when she got to the end of the aisle, but she also loved spending the morning of with her amazing bridesmaids. Jake’s favorite memory was seeing her for the first time after waiting in his car where we had him on lock-down for a little bit. 😉 FIRST DANCE SONG: Tenerife Sea – Ed Sheeran HONEYMOON: St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
