Portland, IN Wedding – Dustin and Erin

Wedding season is in full bloom and I couldn’t be happier!  Dustin and Erin kicked off the season just 2 weeks ago.  Weddings are my favorite event to photograph and I wouldn’t have wanted to be with any other couple than Dustin and Erin on April 15th.

They were married at a little church in the country, with the friendliest dog who roamed the church property.  Upon arrival I scouted out the the lighting and then met the ladies in the church basement, where they were all finishing hair and makeup.  I grabbed Erin’s dress and started on detail shots. The beading on her dress was gorgeous!

My very favorite part of the day was during the reception when I took Dustin and Erin outside for some photos of just the two of them. It was getting close to sunset and was a beautiful time of night.  I don’t even think anyone realized we were gone.

Dustin and Erin, it was such a privilege to be part of your wedding day.  Thank you for entrusting me to the job! I hope that your photos bring you everlasting memories of your special day.

Enjoy the highlights.

Much Love,

MEET THE NEWLYWEDS: Dustin and Erin WEDDING DATE: April 15, 2017 LOCATION: Union Chapel Church, Bryant, IN  HOW THEY MET:  In August 2015, they met through a mutual friend during a Four-Wheeler ride. Erin didn’t know him, but he knew who she was. He started a conversation later that evening when they were all having a cookout after riding. Erin wasn’t interested, but Dustin kept pursuing until she changed her mind.  According to Dustin, he had tried a few years earlier and and she didn’t take the bait then either! He used that common place to start the conversation the evening of the cookout.  ENGAGEMENT: Dustin took Erin on the four wheeler to the same spot in the woods where they first met. Dustin got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. FAVORITE WEDDING MEMORIES: Erin said she loved spending time with her dad before the wedding to calm her nerves. Her dad then told her that it wasn’t too late to run. 😉 Dustin said that his favorite memory was seeing Erin walk down the aisle. FIRST DANCE SONG: The Air That I Breathe, by the Hollies HONEYMOON: Hawaii ADVICE TO FUTURE BRIDES and GROOMS: Erin’s advice is to remember to save money in your budget for the last minute small things you didn’t think of.  And to check the calendar for holidays (like Easter) before picking your date! Dustin says hire a wedding planner so the bride doesn’t get stressed with the details!
