St. Henry, Ohio Wedding – AJ and Maggie

AJ and Maggie were married on June 13th in one of my very favorite churches to photograph in.  The long aisle and beautiful pillars have to be in many little girls’ dreams as they envision their wedding day.  For Maggie and AJ, the location was reality.  The day was… well… VERY memorable for all.  Not only was the celebration of the love between AJ and Maggie evident,  but it became evident that these are the people who can roll with the punches.  The wedding party came up with a hashtag for the wedding #busonfire. We’ll get to that in a bit.

The colors that Maggie and AJ chose for the wedding were perfect for a summer wedding. The bridesmaids’ hot-pink shoes and flowers were go pretty with their navy, summer dresses.  The guys looked sharp in their grey suits and shoes.  Maggie’s ballgown was so fitting for her. I found out right away that it wasn’t the style she was looking for at first, but when she tried it on she knew it was her gown.  That happens a lot according to Monte and Lori from Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta. 😉

#BusOnFire.  We had just started family photos.  The Godparents and Grandparents were finished and it was go-time with the bride’s family.  Suddenly we heard a very loud noise.  Some of us thought that maybe there was a car accident or something out front.  No – it was nothing like that.  Their party bus was on fire.  The groomsmen had just taken the cooler of beverages out to the bus and got out in the nick of time.  The fire department came to the rescue.  Yes, I took pictures. This doesn’t happen…ever.

We proceeded with family photos and then headed onto the wedding party portion. You would never guess it by seeing the blue sky in the pictures with the #busonfire but there was a storm brewing.  The wedding party and I were heading out the door for some casual shots when we all felt a huge gust of wind. It was blowing like CRAZY and the rain was coming down. It created some very memorable moment and the bride and groom rolled with it. They had no other choice.

Thank you Maggie and AJ. First of all for having me at your wedding and secondly for being so incredibly kind and fun throughout the entire process.  From booking the wedding to photographing it – it was truly wonderful.

Enjoy your wedding day highlights below.

MEET THE NEWLYWEDS: AJ and Maggie WEDDING DATE: June 13, 2015 LOCATION: St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, OH and Romer’s Catering, Celina, OH.  HOW THEY MET: AJ and Maggie met July 9, 2011. They were set up on a date by the maid of honor (mutual friend). They went putt-putting and ate at Olive Garden.   Maggie said that she was horrible at putt-putting, and wonders why he still wanted to be with her after that. She was joking, of course. ENGAGEMENT: February 7, 2014.  They got engaged while  on a ski trip with AJ’s parents.  Maggie was completely blown away and surprised.  It was on top of the mountain, early morning, while the snow was falling. They were taking pictures and next thing she knew AJ was down on his knee.  The best part was AJ’s dad was taking the picture and had no clue that this was going to happen. His dad was about to tell AJ to get up because he  sometimes joked around and acted like he was going to propose and would have nothing in his hands.  Maggie always told AJ he was going to do it sometime and she wouldn’t believe him.
