When your neighbor gets married and asks you to photograph the wedding, it becomes more like a family member getting married rather than just the girl who lives around the corner. Jennifer and Fred were married recently at one of the most popular locations locally. The Tabernacle in Monroe, IN has been the backdrop for several weddings in recent years. It is rustic, big and soooo pretty.
Jennifer and Fred had a vision for how they wanted the Tabernacle to look for their wedding. Since we are friends I offered to come help do a little set up the week of the wedding. When I saw the ginormous chandelier that they wanted to hang from the middle I immediately felt a little nervous for the person who had to hang it. Then I saw that Fred had it all under control. He rented a lift from the hardware store and carefully (and quickly it seemed) hoisted the beauty to the ceiling and it was the most stunning centerpiece for their venue.
Jennifer’s dress was gorgeous. She looked radiant in it. The lace trimmed veil was the perfect piece to complete her wedding look. And while I am mentioning wedding look… let’s talk about the flowers. My goodness they were gorgeous! She chose a fashion forward bouquet (or some would call it a throw back cascade bouquet) which smelled like Heaven.
Fred and Jennifer did something special during their wedding that I have never seen before. It was so touching to watch take place and I know that others were very moved by it as well. At the altar there were two, full, vases of white roses. During the ceremony the minister read the names of their family members who had left this earth too soon. A rose was handed to the next of kin as a remembrance of their loved one whose absence was felt that day. It was so, so special.
Fred and Jennifer, thank you for having me as your photographer. I loved being there with you on your wedding day. Enjoy these highlights.
