It is no secret that I love weddings. I love shooting weddings, I love being at weddings… it’s kind of sickness you might say. Last weekend I had the perfect couple to launch the Amy’s Photography 2014 wedding season. I was so happy when Tom and Alyssa called me and I was open on their wedding date. We clicked from the get-go and I enjoyed them so much. Their families and their wedding party were truly the best.
I do have to brag on how awesome Alyssa was. She had the flu on her wedding day. Can you imagine??? She was so miserable but truly was a trooper. She powered through even though I know she felt horrible. At the end of the night I knew she was just exhausted but she allowed me to take them outside for a sunset picture just before I left. I knew the picture would be worth it. I told her she didn’t even have to move. She and Tom stood there still while the sun went down. It was the perfect photo to end the night with.
So now I present a few of my favorites from the wedding of Tom and Alyssa.
Thank you SO much for having me you two. I appreciate you.
Meet the Newlyweds: Tom and Alyssa – April 5, 2014
Ceremony Location: Bryant Wesleyan Church, Bryant, IN. Reception Location: Private residence in Portland, INHow they met: Tom and Alyssa knew each other in high school. They started dating the summer before her junior year.
Engagement: In February 2013 Tom and Alyssa purchased a house together. The first night in the new house Tom surprised Alyssa when she got home from work by making her dinner and proposing. It was a few days before Valentines day as Tom didn’t want to propose on Valentines Day.
Favorite wedding memory: For Alyssa it was the time spent together with no one else around during their first look. For Tom – it was seeing Alyssa come down the aisle.I was in love with the color pallet of the wedding. The soft pink bridesmaids dresses, the linen tuxes and Alyssa’s antique ivory gown – all gorgeous!First Dance Song: All of me by John LegendShout Outs: Markie at Upper Kut Salon in Portland, IN for the bridal hair.
Church and Reception Decor: Beverly – (the mother of the bride.)
